Annabel Moeller

Annabel is a British photographer, based in London. She has travelled extensively for her work and shoots a wide range of subjects including portraiture, documentary, the performing arts, lifestyle and interiors.

Her 30 year career began as a picture researcher for the renowned picture agency Camera Press where she encountered photographs from around the world that covered the full range of human endeavor though politics, fashion, war, music and more.

Having moved to Australia in the 1990’s here first client came through a lucky introduction to the Sydney Opera House where she photographed over 40 operas. On her return to the UK she went on to enjoy long standing commissions with the English National Ballet and the Royal Albert Hall that endure to this day.

At the same time Annabel turned her camera to more commercial clients including Citi Private Bank, Moet Hennessy and the Palace of Westminster where she uses her foundation in reportage photography to bring life to more formal environments.

Her early influences in the realm of documentary photography have culminated in her being embedded with the British Army in Iraq and with medical teams in Libya, Ukraine and Syria. A particularly precious private project was accompanying the charity Afghan Mother and Child Rescue in their mission to build maternity clinics in the remote mountainous areas of Afghanistan.

Annabel Moeller Friends to Frontiers BookIn 2023 Annabel was represented and published by the Lee Miller Archives with a retrospective of her work in the book and exhibition Friends to Frontiers, which was shown in their gallery and museum in East Sussex and, later, at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Most recently she joined Dr Bob Seely on several trips to Ukraine to take photographs for his book The New Total War which describes the now 20 year campaign waged by Putin to bring Ukraine back under Russian control.An exhibition of these images at the Dimbola Gallery on the Isle of Wight will coincide with the book’s publication on 10th July 2025.

Whether within the historic architecture of Westminster, the glittering stages of the West End or the rugged backdrops of the Middle East, Annabel finds humanity and dignity in all theatres she finds herself in.

Her distinctive approach to projects, coupled with her infectious camaraderie with all those she collaborates with, ensures the realization of exceptional outcomes from every opportunity she undertakes.
